According to 247Sports, the environment for one of the Tennessee Vols‘ home games in 2022 is going to be “terrifying”.
On Wednesday, 247Sports’ Brad Crawford ranked the “most terrifying environments” for the 2022 season.
And he thinks the environment in Neyland for Tennessee’s game against the Florida Gators on September 24 will be the No. 8 most frightening environment in college football next year.
From 247Sports
Neyland Stadium might be cavernous, but it easily provides one of college football’s best gameday atmospheres when the Volunteers are nationally-relevant, and that’s where this program is heading into Josh Heupel’s second season at the helm. This SEC East rivalry has been won only once in Tennessee’s history, and that was at Neyland Stadium during the 2016 season. Remember what happened last year during crunch-time against Ole Miss. The fans were not angry because they had a right to be. If the outcome is in doubt, Neyland Stadium could look like a horror movie in its fourth quarter match against the Gators next year.
I have no doubt Neyland will be wild against the Gators.
Tennessee hasn’t beaten Florida in football in nearly six years, but there’s a decent chance that UT will be favored against the Gators next season.
Vol fans are the loudest in the country. It tends to get louder when Florida is visiting. I suspect the Gators may have some communication problems next fall when they visit Neyland.
