Feed additives that have a direct beneficial effect on the environment, or physiological conditions stabilisers: identification of mode of action and endpoints for the assessment of their efficacy

  • Ref: NP/EFSA/FEEDCO/2022/02
  • Budget: 120,000.00 ( 54.200 for lot 1 & 65.800 for lot 2).
  • Approximate launch dateMarch 2022
  • DeadlineRegister your interest: 25/02/2022

Background:

Regulation (EC No 1831/2003) established groups of additives that have beneficial effects on the environment or physiological condition stabilisers. Further information on possible candidate substances, the mode of action and valid endpoints for assessing the efficacy, as well as the methods of assessment, is required in order to provide guidance regarding the assessment of both types of feed-additives. To gather the most current scientific information, a literature review is performed.

Objectives:

  • Lot 1: To identify potential substances, microorganisms, or products that could be used as feed additives with a direct favorable effect on the environment. Data collection on their mode of operation, effects observed, and endpoints related to efficacy.
  • Lot 2: To identify candidate substances and microorganisms to be feed additives that have a physiological condition stabilizing effect; collecting data on the mode of action; effects observed; and endpoints related to their efficacy.

Selection criteria – Technical and professional capacity

to deliver the service it is considered that experience is needed in systematic literature reviews, chemistry/biochemistry, animal nutrition, animal physiology, immunology, animal welfare, environmental science. In the tender specifications, additional selection criteria will be set for each lot.
