PORT WENTWORTH Ga. WTOC. Port Wentworth administrative services were affected after several employees resigned according to the outgoing mayor.
Ed Booth, who was appointed Port Wentworth’s city manager, has resigned. He said that six of seven Port Wentworth administration staff members resigned because they were made to work in a hostile environment by the city council.
Gary Norton, Port Wentworth Mayor, stated that he and the current City Attorney will manage day-to-day operations while he searches for a replacement city manager.
Public safety operations continue to operate as usual, but other city services are being affected.
