OVO Energy conducted a study on 36 comic villains and heroes from Marvel and DC, and found that they were the most eco-friendly.
Climate change is a real threat that must be addressed. The best way to start is to choose super heroes, who society idolizes, and have the least carbon footprint.
OVO Energy studied 36 comic villains and heroes from Marvel and DC and ranked them according to their environmental impact. The least eco-friendly superhero was Batman, a DC hero. Aquaman is the eco-friendly superhero. He doesn’t need a car, loves the ocean and can survive in green living arrangements. Atlantis has a zero tolerance policy for fossil fuels. This half-human, half Atlantean man is sustainable to his core. The study is based on a hypothesis that Aquaman should have a chat to other members of Justice League if he wants the oceans to remain in a good condition.
Aquaman was second in eco-friendly superheroes, with Daredevil in second. Daredevil’s childhood was filled with tragedy. He was blinded by radioactive substances and left an orphan. He is a hand-to–hand fighter who attacks his enemies. He has a modest standard for living and rates himself above other DC and Marvel heroes.

OVO Energy conducted the hypothetical study with six parameters: transport, commute time, living arrangements, clothing and weapons, as well as damage to the environment. To see how good or poor they were, the 36 villains and heroes were compared.
Because both Aquaman and Spiderman use natural forms of transportation, they received the highest scores for transport and commute. Batman, who uses a highly polluting Batmobile, is therefore not rated well. Spider-man spins webs to hop from one place to another, while Aquaman swims supersonic.
Iron Man, a man who loves artificial intelligence and new gadgets, was rated below Batman. This is because he has to rely upon technology as he lacks the natural powers to protect Gotham from thugs and other syndicated crime gangs. The observation found the Dark Knight’s eco-footprint increases mainly because of his choice of transport vehicles, which includes Batmobile, aeroplane and boat; not to mention the collection of vehicles that his alter-ego Bruce Wayne possesses.
Among villains, Superman’s rival, Lex Luthor, is the most anti-ecology. Luther, like Batman, does not possess any special powers. Both are leaders of global corporations that significantly increase their carbon footprint. Luthor is determined to destroy Superman with his highly destructive weaponry. Loki, on one hand, is number one on the list for most durable villains.
