LAHORE: Novumpack and WWF-Pakistan have signed a memorandum o’ understanding (MoUA statement stated that the ) was intended to promote corporate sustainability and environmental awareness campaigns.
WWF-Pakistan is a non-profit organization that works in conservation of nature and environment in Pakistan. It aims to stop the destruction of the planet’s natural environment and build a future where people and nature can thrive.
It has a long tradition of working in partnership and the private sector to find innovative solutions in Pakistan to urgent environmental issues.
NovumPack, the local partner for Cardia Bioplastics, is the pioneer of plastic free starch-based compostable (and environment-friendly) packaging in Pakistan.
NovumPack began its journey with environmentally-friendly packaging. However, the company has since added single-use plastic cutlery to its product line to meet the growing demand for biodegradables.
NovumPacks’ nature-derived products are supported by global partnerships (for R&D support worldwide) and industry certifications. These certifications promise a premium product that can demonstrate complete decomposition within industrial or home composting facilities within three to 6 months.
Novumpack and WWF-Pakistan have signed an MoU. They will maintain an amicable, cooperative relationship where they can share information and other opportunities to help each other work for the improvement of the environment.
Both organisations will work together to develop and implement projects, capacity-building, environmental education, and capacity-building in order to address urgent environmental issues such plastic pollution, climate changes, air pollution, and other related issues. This will include, among other things, workshops for the corporate sector on recycling waste and eco-friendly workshops, educational campaigns at institutions across India, and the development and promotion sustainable plastic-free merchandise and products.
