MANILA, Philippines Senate Majority Lead Juan Miguel Zubiri has been officially endorsed by the Developers of Renewable Energy for Advancement, Inc. for 2022.
DREAM is an alliance between renewable energy developers associations across the nation.
Senator Migz has stood with the renewable energy sector, especially during times when there have been difficulties, especially in building renewable energy plants, and systems, stated DREAM in a statement signed President Jose M. Layug Jr.
Zubiri is a long-standing advocate for environmental conservation and sustainability. He is also known as Mr. Clean Energy because of his leadership in the Renewable Energy Law of 2008. and the Biofuels Law of 2006. These laws allowed the country to reduce its dependence upon imported fuel by utilizing local sources of renewable energy.
Zubiri has championed many other climate action measures, including the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act and Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Ecological Solid Waste Management Act. DREAM also cited Zubiri’s involvement in environmental programs, including the Philippine Deer Foundation (which he co-founded) and the Katala Foundation (which he also co-founded).
DREAM added that he rejected government inefficiency in performing public duties, which led to the passage of Ease of Doing Business Act.
Zubiri stated that DREAM’s support is very encouraging. I have always been passionate about environmental sustainability, conservation, and will continue to do my best for the sector of renewable energy, so that we can move towards a truly sustainable future and create more jobs for our people.
