NEAR FORT MYERS FL (WSVN). Two men were caught on camera being nuisances to an alligator protecting her nest.

Officials are searching for those men who harassed the Florida gator.

The men were seen trying to hit an animal and her nest at the Charlotte Harbour Environmental Center in Fort Myers, on Thursday.

Instead of attacking, the gator decided that it would rather head back into water. The CEO of an environmental center explained the events.

Two individuals walked up to a freshwater lake where there was a mama and her babies. One of them can also be seen trying to get the mama with a branch.

Signs are posted near the spot where this happened, warning people not to disturb the animals.

The CEO stated that it was amazing that the alligator didn’t attack her, especially since she was taking care to her babies.

They will be facing multiple charges if they are caught.
