A special weather advisory has been upgraded from a warning to a warning due strong winds inWindsor-Essex Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton Friday.
Environment Canada issued a special warning Thursday morning about gusts between 80 km/h and 90 km/h in the morning and afternoon.
Later in the morning, weather authorities upgraded the warning to a warning.
Winds are from the southwest. They will be strongest at night when there is a passage by a cold front.
Environment Canada stated that buildings can sustain damage, including to roofs or shingles. Loose items can also blow away and pose a risk to people. It is possible for trees and branches to fall.
According to the weather agency, the winds could also cause power disruptions.
CBC news witnessed at least one fallen tree that struck a car near Ottawa and Lincoln streets.
