The Duke of Cambridge will host a new television series about the environment. The show will feature pioneers who have been acknowledged for their innovative solutions to climate problems. David Attenborough will also be joining him.

Prince William, in a trailer that introduces the BBC documentary, The Earthshot Prize : Repairing our Planet, tells viewers that this is a time for hope and not fear.

The Queen’s Grandson will speak with the winners of The Earthshot Prize, which he launched in partnership with The Royal Foundation in October 2020 in five-part series.

The prince spoke in a brief trailer and said that this was a moment for hope and not for fear.

I launched the Earthshot Prize, which is the most ambitious environmental prize ever created.

A decade of action for the repair of our planet.

Sir David Attenborough, who also hosts the show, tells viewers to imagine what is possible.

Inspiring himself from John F Kennedys Moonshot Project, which helped mankind achieve greatness, the prince selected 15 finalists from around this globe earlier in the month.

The winners included a 14 year old girl from India who designed a solar-powered ironing machine, Costa Rica, which pioneered a project that paid local citizens to restore natural ecosystems, as well as a Chinese app that allows citizens to hold polluters accountable.

The BBC series will air starting October 3. Each episode will address a different environmental issue. They will cover protecting and restoring nature and combating air pollution, revitalizing the oceans and tackling waste.

The episodes will air in the lead-up to the United Nations Cop26 Climate Summit, which will be held in Glasgow starting November 1.

Jason Knauf, chief executive officer of The Royal Foundation, stated that he hopes viewers will be inspired and motivated by the series.

He stated that television and radio audiences would be inspired by our innovative environmental programming over a two-week period.

The awards ceremony, which will be broadcast on radio and television, will honor the Earthshot Prize Finalists and inspire and challenge all of us to take part in this crucial decade for the planet.

BBC One will also air an awards ceremony for the inaugural Earthshot Prize, which will be held at Alexandra Palace in London, on October 17.

Charlotte Moore, chief content officer at BBC, stated: There couldn’t be a better time to air this iconic series and celebrate the incredible ingenuity that people around the world.

The series will also feature Shakira, the former UN climate chief Christiana Figuerres, as well as football star Dani Alves.

A Radio 4 series, Costing The Earth, Earthshot, produced by Silverback Films natural history filmmakers, will also air in October.
