The Bishop of Norwich sponsors a new competition to recognize young workers who care about Norfolk’s natural environment.

In partnership with the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, the Sustainable Environment Young Employee of the Year Award was launched. It carries a 1,000prize.

It is open to employees and apprentices under 21 years old who work for a Norfolk-based employer in the land-based sector.

The work of applicants will focus on one or more areas: conservation, land management, countryside management. Ecology, climate change management. Horticulture.

The award aims to boost the winner’s future employment prospects, while raising the profile of environmentalemployment opportunities and apprenticeship schemes within Norfolk.

Bishop of Norwich, The Rt RevGraham Usher, said: This award with its 1000 prize aims to encourage, support, and support young apprentices from Norfolk who are just starting their careers in caring for the environment.

“I am passionate about the preservation of God’s creation and how biodiversity can be improved. I hope this award will inspire the next generation in their appreciation of the natural world as I have.

Mark Nicholas, managing director at the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, stated: “It’s the RNAA’s charitable purpose to promote the skills to advance protection and safeguarding the environment, and the award is a welcome chance to shine the spotlight upon some of the inspiring work being done by our young people.”

The competition will be judged and judged by The Food andFarming Discovery Trust. This is the education vehicle of RNAA.

Dr. Shannon Woodhouse, FFDT manager, stated: “It’s important that we celebrate those who are just starting out in the protection, maintenance, and development of nature, to help push for a more sustainable tomorrow.”

The winner will receive a 1,000-dollar cash prize to fund their training and two tickets to see the Royal Norfolk Show.

The award will be presented bythe Bishop of NorwichandRNAA presidentthe Marquesssof Cholmondeleyat the event on June 30.
