Environment Canada issues a Special Weather Statement for Highway 3 Paulson Summit-Kootenay Pass

Environment Canada has issued a Special Warning Statement for Highway 3 Paulson Summit-Kootenay Pass because of late snowfall.

Environment Canada stated Monday that total accumulations will be between 15 and 20 cm starting Tuesday afternoon and continuing through Tuesday.

Environment Canada announced that late season snow will be delivered by a frontal system through British Columbia, which is moving across British Columbia.

Midday (Monday): Light snow will start to intensify tonight.

For Rogers Pass Tuesday evening, snow will be a bit lighter with a few flurries Tuesday morning.

Environment Canada stated that weather conditions can quickly change at higher elevations, resulting in dangerous driving conditions.
