Green Man Sushir Rout observed Tuesday’s National Renewal Day here. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of Aryabhatt Foundation. He is also a resident in Madhabandha village, Chikiti.
Rout, who was celebrating the occasion, stated that Planet Earth is in severe ecological stress due to global warming and extreme weather irregularities. He believes it is time to restructure our lifestyles for a sustainable future.
According to information, Rout, 60, has spent his entire life savings on trees and protecting the environment. Over the last two decades, Rout planted over 35,000 saplings on Ganjam’s roadsides and on the 10 barren hills. He also led several padayatras, barefoot, to inspire the public and encourage them to plant trees and protect the air, water, and soil.
