Al-Fadhli will inaugurate Environment Week in Riyadh

RIYADH Eng. Abdulrahman Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli inaugurates the activities and exhibitions of the Environment Week in Riyadh on Sunday. This week’s slogan is “Our Environment Is Our Responsibility”. It aims to raise awareness about the importance for protecting the environment.

The exhibition will promote environmental culture and consolidate quality of living goals. It will activate the role of institutions as well as various government agencies in preserving and restoring the environment. It will also raise awareness about the responsibility of individuals towards the environment and help to maintain an environment that is in line with Vision 2030.

This year’s event features several activities in 21 areas and cities throughout the Kingdom. The Ministry will be organizing awareness-raising activities and interactive pavilions. There will also be various events such as workshops and performances.

These events are a way for the ministry to strengthen community partnerships with different sectors, including regions, ministries and their various branches as well as public and private universities, private companies and non-profit sector sectors.

The Ministry plans to host activities and events throughout the week. This year, the Ministry’s events will vary in different regions. Riyadh, the capital, will host the most notable events through a large interactive exhibition lasting seven days. Eng. Al-Fadhli, “The Arena” (Granada Square).

The exhibition will focus on several pillars: vegetation cover, combating droughtification, wild and maritime wildlife, environment explorer and waste management. It will also highlight environmental protection, awareness-raising activities and activities for children.

The “Environment Hackathon” will kick off this year’s activities. This event brings together officials, stakeholders, and specialists in environmental sectors.

They will meet to discuss the latest trends, challenges, opportunities and priorities for developing the environment sector. The Environment Week represents the Kingdom’s efforts towards achieving its 2030 environmental vision.
