The Ministry of Environment (Minam).The statement contains information on the actions of the Agency for Environmental Assessment and Enforcement and the National Service for Protected Natural Areas and (Sernanp), following the oil spillage in Lima’s Ventanilla area.

Here’s the text of the statement

Statement

The following actions were taken in response to the hydrocarbon spillage in Ventanilla by the Ministry of Environment (Minam), Agency for Environmental Assessment and Enforcement(OEFA) and the National Service for Protected Natural Areass (Sernanp).

Agency for Environmental Assessment and Enforcement (OEFA).

-The environmental supervision began on Sunday, January 16, and identified and assessed affected areas.

-As a result of the supervisory action, the OEFA took administrative actions against Repsol Peru. These actions aimed at: i. identifying and cleaning the affected areas, ii. containing and recovering hydrocarbons, iii. transporting and carrying in a safe manner hazardous and non-hazardous materials generated by the spill cleanup.

This is a still evolving story.
