Approval by the Montana Forest Plan Environmental Groups

According to filings in the appeals court, environmental groups want the Ninth Circuit to reverse a judge’s decision largely in favor the federal government’s revised forest plan for Flathead National Forest in northwestern Montana.

The revised forest plan outlines various activities within the forest such as logging, road construction, and recreation. Swan View Coalition, WildEarth Guardians and two other groups claimed that the plan did not have sufficient environmental review. They also claimed it was harmful to grizzly bears and bull trout as well as other species and their habitats in the forest.
