Many people are conscious of the importance of protecting the environment. Particularly when you consider the dangers of climate changes.
Some people have come up with innovative and inspiring solutions to environmental problems. Let’s take an in-depth look at some of these coolest.
Mango and seaweed ‘plastic’
Denxybel Montinola, a young Filipino scientist, created a new type of plastic. This plastic is made from mango peels and algae. It is water-soluble, meaning it can dissolve in water.
This invention is biodegradable, unlike other plastics. It’s also not harmful to the environment, since it’s made from natural materials.
Recycled Lego bricks

Dustin Bowers from New Brunswick wanted to address the large amount of plastic waste that is generated by gardening and farming. PLAEX, his company, makes Lego-like bricks out of recycled plastic waste. They are large enough to be used for building walls, but they can also be used to make smaller buildings such as sheds or garages.
These recycled blocks don’t need extra materials like nails or screws to stick together. They are made from plastic waste from farms and greenhouses. The company hopes that their blocks will one day be used to build houses.
YouTubers clean up the ocean

YouTubers MrBeast & Mark Rober created the Team Seas charity. They raised over $30 million for ocean cleanup through this charity.
They planned to create multiple “river interceptor robotics” as part of this massive job. They’re designed to catch trash at rivers, so they don’t end up in the ocean at all.
They also joined forces with other environmental charities that focus on cleaning the ocean of trash. This resulted in thousands of volunteers cleaning beaches littered with trash.
Edible utensils
Bakey’s, an Indian firm, developed edible forks in 2011 They were made from edible ingredients such as sorghum and wheat, rice, and millet. This meant that you could eat your utensils once they were used. Yum!
It is fine to just throw them away. In just a few days, the utensils will be compostable. This is much better than letting the utensils go to waste like plastic utensils.
Bakey’s isn’t operating anymore. IncrEDIBLE Eats was established to make edible utensils. The spoons and sporks made from wheat, oats, corn, chickpeas, and brown rice are made. They also come with sweet options for things like ice cream.
What’s next then?
It’s amazing to see how people are finding unique solutions to climate change, even though it’s still a problem.
With all these new ideas people are using to save the world, who knows what we’ll see next? How can you help the environment improve?
