WILLIAMSTOWN — During the school break, the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center (Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center) will offer a variety of educational and fun programs for youth and their families.

From Tuesday, February 22nd at 2-3 p.m., participants can learn to cook for birds. This indoor program will teach participants what birds like to eat, and how to make a birdseed treat for their backyard birds. On Tuesday, February 22, from 6-7:30 p.m. to Wednesday, February 22, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the winter woods at evening, including a guided walk on snowshoes. On Wednesday, February 23, at 10 a.m., attendees will learn all about snow. Participants will learn about snow science through simple experiments and crafts. They will also be able to take a snowshoe hike through the woods with an environmental educator.

Outdoor programs will have snowshoes available. Participants are asked to dress warmly in layers. It is best to wear footwear that can be strapped into a snowshoe. Shoes with heels or sneakers will not fit in the straps, making it difficult to walk. Participants will take part in a winter boot walk if there isn’t enough snow.
