The program provides three main environmental benefits. The first phase, which involved the relocation of individual howler monkeys as well as the creation of corridors connecting forest patches, is well under way. Phase two of the program is currently underway. It consists of monitoring and reforestation of the Black Howler monkey population over the next few years, as well as preserving forest patches that remain connected by biological corridors.
