Siren Rock Brewing CompanyEva and Cory Cannon are well aware that customers need more than just a wide selection of delicious craft beers to keep them coming back for more. The place’s atmosphere, energy, and hospitality are equally important. They knew that full-bodied audio was a key ingredient in their recipe.
The entrepreneurs met with local pro AV manufacturers to discuss their plans for the 13,000-square feet facility in Rockwall. Mizzen Marketing to help design a suitable audio solution. They preferred that equipment be from one manufacturer in order to maintain a consistent aesthetic, system interoperability, easy deployment, and ensure a cohesive aesthetic. Other requirements were: The equipment had to sound great, blend in with the environment, and be easy to use.
Given the complex architectural and acoustical design of the facility, as well as the abundance of reflective metal, glass, and concrete surfaces, these were difficult orders. The brewery also includes a taproom and production room, private event space and a full kitchen. There are also two outdoor beer gardens with different ceiling heights, design elements and materials.
AtlasIED’s vast speaker portfolio met all requirements. The Cannons required discreet, built-in speakers from the company’s SHS (Strategically Hidden Subwoofers) line. They needed pendant speakers, standard ceilings, and subwoofers for tall ceilings. They also needed weather-resistant landscape speakers for their patios. The Cannons added the following: AtlasIEDAtmosphere’s digital audio system allowed the speakers in Siren Rock to be easily zoned and calibrated, ensuring the Cannons had the best sound quality.
After Siren Rock’s design parameters and audio requirements were established, Doug Hall, Mizzens director for technology, drafted a complete digital sound plan that included Atmosphere DSP and amplifiers, as well as controls and controls. These were all connected to a variety of AtlasIED speakers. Hall stated that AtlasIED provided everything necessary for the project, which greatly simplified installation. The Atmosphere system is so easy-to-tune, I was happy to go the extra mile and use a sound analyzer with a pro microphone to further tune the system to remove as many audio reflections as possible.
Atmosphere’s programming, tuning, calibration, zoning, and zoning capabilities make it easy for employees. Presets make it easy for employees to set volume levels and activate speakers. They can select the zones from their smartphones or one of the many wall-mounted touchpads. The system then delivers the right music at the right volume to the speakers. Hall explained that they might switch off the house music during live bands or play music indoors at certain times of day. If they want, the Atmosphere XLR jack located near the stage can distribute live music throughout the venue.
This, plus all the other audio features Atmosphere supports has given us the wow factor, the comfort level and the customer engagement we had hoped for when creating Siren Rock,” Cory said.
By synching their mobile devices with a Bluetooth audio input, guests can can listen to their favorite songs and playlists via the Atmosphere-integrated speakers. Guests have access to a wall-mounted volume controller.
