Avett Brothers postpone New Years Eve concert because of COVID concerns

CHARLOTTE N.C. (WBTV – The Avett Brothers announced today that they will cancel their New Years Eve concert in Greensboro, N.C., due to an increase in COVID-19 related cases.

Cabarrus County’s band posted on social networks that they would postpone the show out of concern about the safety of their fans, crew members, and band members.

The Avett Brothers were scheduled for performance at their Avett New Years Eve show, Greensboro Coliseum Complex.

The band stated they are working on details for rescheduling the show.

In a statement, the band stated that we must not increase the burden on already-overwhelmed North Carolina hospitals and healthcare workers. We are grateful for your understanding and patience. We look forward seeing you in 2022.

Seth Avett stated on social media that this decision was made after a lot thought.

He said that we don’t want to create an unsafe environment. We love you all.
