Thousands of bikers pedaled around the main thoroughfares of Bacolod City yesterday, February 13 to raise awareness about the climate crisis and to gather support for Vice President Leni Robredo’s platform for renewable energy

Leni Robredo–Kiko Pangilinan volunteers organized this event, as well as a Zumba Fest.

They also invited a band and served Bacolod’s famous Chicken Inasal at Bike Fest.

Arian Alagao, one of the organizers of the event, said that Robredo’s platform for renewable energy was the main reason the volunteers held the event.

“We believe Leni Robredo is one of the presidential candidates that push for genuine green energy here in the Philippines,” Alagao said.

Negros Occidental is home of a large group of environmentalists. They are known for their work in blocking coal power plants, and pushing for renewable energy.

Various Leni Kiko volunteer groups came together in support of the Alagao Family.

Alagao stated that volunteers need to reach more communities. She says that the event is one way they reach out to communities such as the biking community.

Volunteers from Robredo and Pangilinan came together in Quezon City to show support for the candidates at a #PinkSunday. (PR)
