Canon has published a guide to help you manage and protect important information about multifunction devices and printers

MELVILLE, N.Y., April 11, 2022/PRNewswire/- Canon has created this guide to assist companies in taking the appropriate steps to manage and protect important information about multifunction devices and printers. U.S.A.Canon Inc., a market leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced that they have published a White paperIt contains cybersecurity guidelines for organizations and systems that manage sensitive information. The whitepaper covers the Canon multifunctional printer and each control within the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards. It also provides guidance on how to configure the devices to support the NIST controls.

The whitepaper, which was created by Canon Inc. (former McAfee Enterprise) can be used as a guide for security administrators in organizations who are responsible to configure and maintain Canon imageRUNNER Advance DX devices.1 It includes cybersecurity guidelines for NISTSP 800-171, which are required for organizations doing business with government agencies (such as the United States Department of Defense or the Japanese Ministry of Defense). The whitepaper also includes information on NIST SP 800172, which outlines Advanced Persistent Threat Countermeasures. This information will help companies take the right steps to protect their important information.

The white paper discusses access control. This covers how to verify and manage external system connections and use, as well as how portable storage devices can be used on external systems. The whitepaper outlines the important steps companies can take to strengthen their security measures.
