The threat of developing diseases is on the rise due to the contamination of the atmosphere. It is our collective responsibility to ensure a clean environment.

Dr Vijay Singla, Punjab Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research minister, stated this during a function held to celebrate World Health Day. He stated that the risk of developing diseases was increasing every day because of the contaminated environment. He urged people to take this as a challenge and work to create a safe and clean environment.

Dr Singla appealed for people to ride bicycles or take a bus to get to their destinations.

Dr Singla stated that the Punjabi people are migrating to India because they believe it is their collective duty to provide quality higher education, better living standards, and a clean environment for their future generations.

He stated that the government would soon provide state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and that every citizen would be issued a health card so they could access free health services. “The Punjab Government was also working hard to start Mohalla Clinics. Apart from this, all hospitals in the state would be upgraded as per requirement and the medical colleges equipped with world-class facilities,” he added.

Dr Singla meanwhile arranged for specially designed vans that would encourage people to live a healthy lifestyle.
