ORLANDO, Fla.Scientists agree that it is now more urgent than ever to take immediate action against climate change and reduce single-use plastics. News 6 has focused on this issue with its Forecasting Change reports.

In honor of Earth Day (Friday), Erik Sandoval joined Justin Warmoth, anchor on The Weekly, to discuss what’s happening at the local level in Florida to protect the environment. This included the new technology that roams the coast of Brevard County looking for litter and microplastics.

Sandoval also talked about his recent trip in South Florida, where a group composed of combat veterans is studying the problems plaguing Florida’s coral.
