Crown Princess Victoria attended a digital meeting with Professor Johan Rockström on a busy Thursday for the heir to the Swedish throne.

During the meeting, Johan Rockström, head of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, spoke about the work on climate issues after the United Nations climate conference COP26, held in Glasgow in November 2021. The report “10 New Insights in Climate Science 2021,” which was presented during COP26, was also discussed.

The introduction was followed by great enthusiasm by the Crown Princess, and photographs were published by the Royal Court.

The digital conversation between the Crown Princess, her secretary, adjutant, and the professor was digital.

The Swedish Crown Princess and her close friend, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, have paid a lot attention to climate problems for many years. Among other things, the Crown Princess has, in recent years, put a lot of focus on nature by walking through many of Sweden’s national parks.

As head of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Johan Rockström leads one of Europe’s most prominent centres for climate and sustainability research. He is also a member of both the Royal Swedish Academy of Forestry and Agriculture and Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Her Royal Highness was also present at a meeting about Swedish foreign policy earlier in the day with King Carl XVI Gustaf.
