Data-driven solution to decarbonize the built environment

SNC-Lavalin, a project management and professional services company, has launched Decarbonomics. It is a data-driven solution that decarbonizes the built environment in a cost-effective manner and accelerates the global journey towards net zero.

SNC-Lavalins methods, practices, and tools are used to create high-performing buildings and developments that are interconnected by smart and sustainable systems and infrastructure.

Decarbonizing existing assets

This approach is for both the public and private sectors that are seeking to reduce carbon emissions. The built environment accounts for around 40% of global carbon emissions, and most buildings that will be in place by 2050 have already been built.

SNC-Lavalin President and CEO Ian Edwards stated that creating the net zero communities is dependent on effective decarbonisation. Decarbonomics is one concrete example of how clients can achieve their net zero targets. This is in line to our Engineering Net Zero approach.

Decarbonomics brings together SNC-Lavalins experience and knowledge in building services and engineering design, project management and cost consulting, data analytics, and data visualisations.
