One thing has become clear since operations at Disney Parks worldwide have returned to normal, and that is that guests from all over the world have missed their doses of Disney magic.
Many people have noticed that Disney Parks are becoming more popular than ever.
The first Disney-themed amusement park outside the United States was Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu (Chiba), Japan. After the success of Walt Disney’s first theme park, Disneyland Resort AKA The Happiest Place On Earth, and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Central Florida, The Oriental Land Company, through a licensing effort by The Walt Disney Company, opened Tokyo Disneyland.

Tokyo Disneyland will soon be joined later by Tokyo DisneySea and Ikspiari, which will become the Tokyo Disney Resort. To best serve its guests and maximize Guest experience, the Resort has multiple hotels including the Disney Ambassador Hotel and Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta and Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel. Neighbor hotels include Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel, Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel Club Resort, and Hilton Tokyo Bay.
All this to say, The Oriental Land Company is committed to providing a great guest experience at Tokyo Disney Resort.
In a recent release, the Oriental Land Company shared its vision for the next eight-years. The company behind Tokyo Disney Resort outlines many plans in two documents: one a medium-range plan, and the second a longer-term.
In the Group’s Plan 2024They describe how they plan to improve the Guest experience at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. They stated:
OLC Group will strive to create a pleasant Park environment by lowering the daily attendance limit to levels that were before the COVID-19 pandemic. 2 The Group will be flexible in meeting the diverse needs of its guests and will implement decisive new measures that help them find new value from their experience.
Although capacity has been reduced in most Disney Parks, locations like Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort have used the Park Hopper and Theme Park Reservation systems to manage crowds. However, it appears that Tokyo Disney Resort will keep attendance levels lower than pre-pandemic levels.
The Oriental Land Company outlines its goal to keep attendance low:
The OLC Group will be able to reduce the maximum attendance per day from the pre-pandemic levels, which will allow it to better manage the resources used on an ongoing basis, and create an operational structure that can address environmental changes.
Tokyo Disney Resort will seek to even its current attendance levels.
…will also seek to minimize the difference in attendance levels throughout the yearthat is, across weekdays, holidays, the high season and low seasonand raise the overall annual attendance. In FY2024, the attendance is expected to be around 26 million.
Through the opening of Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs and the “remodeling of existing facilities”, the appeal of the Parks is said to attract a “higher level” of Guests and keep the Park environment consistently comfortable whenever Guests visit.

As for longer-term goals, the company’s 2030 plan is anchored by the need to bring more “Happiness” to Tokyo Disney Resort and its wider neighborhoods.
Tokyo Disney Resort guests can enjoy attractions at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. The former takes on a classic Magic Kingdom vibe with a towering Cinderella Castle and rides like Adventureland’s Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain at Westernland, or Critter Country’s Splash Mountain. DisneySea offers guests the opportunity to visit locations such as the Mediterranean Harbor or American Waterfront.
Tokyo Disney Resort announced recently the major remodel of Tomorrowland as well as the complete rebuilding of Space Mountain.
