Edgar McGregor, whose sole focus is to clean out Eaton Canyon in Pasadena has been filling up at minimum two buckets at once for over 1,000 days.
“I love the weather and climate. I also enjoy the outdoors. McGregor stated that he enjoys going to the parks every day to see how the seasons change. “And it wasn’t until I did that that I realized that there was trash out here, and that I didn’t know if anyone was actually cleaning it up. So it never occurred to me that there was so much trash in this park.
McGregor estimates that he’s taken out well over 15,000 pounds worth of trash.
“Originally, I had created a Twitter account to allow me to send pictures and weather updates to the channel. But I continued using it for fun and would tweet weather statistics. Things really took off when my daily trash pickup began,” he explained. “Eventually, when I reached around day five or 600, one my tweets went viral because I, you know. I hit kinda a milestone.”
McGregor posted a video to celebrate the occasion, saying that he spent at least an hour cleaning up his park every day.

Greta Thunberg is a climate activist and even sent her congratulations.
McGregor has continued his cleanups at Eaton Canyon and other local trails since that great achievement.
He said, “I started doing it every week and then I realized, if I’m going in the park cleanup, I need to come here every day'”
McGregor said, “There is a hundred-times as much trash in this park than I thought it was, and every other park I’ve cleaned up.” “I started to interact with more weather than I ever thought possible here in Pasadena by going out to the park every day.”
His parents couldn’t be prouder.
“He’s a small cog in the entire world. It’s not for the attention. “This is a life-long passion,” Melinda McGregor, Edgar’s mother, said. “He will incorporate these into the rest his life.”
Edgar McGregor III, Edgar’s father, said that while not everyone will pick up trash in his example, if they do something for their community, their city, or their park, it’s a good example. “I think that’s really cool. I’ve learned that it’s something I take to heart.”

McGregor is the only person who can bring about the change he desires.
He said, “There has been a lot of debate in the climate movement over whether or not individual climate action is needed or systematic climate change.” “Climate activism combines individual and systematic action. Both are necessary to solve this problem.
