Dr. PhilHe has spoken out against the allegations that he was working in a toxic environment on set of his eponymous daytime talk program.
On Thursday, February 10, BuzzFeed NewsA lengthy report was published that included claims from former and current staff members of Dr. Phil about their experiences with verbal abuse and fear while on the job. The outlet interviewed almost all of the past and present employees, who chose to remain anonymous. They claimed that Dr. Phil never engaged in abusive behavior but that it was not common for senior staffers berate others for making small mistakes.
Other allegations in the article include claims of racism behind-the scenes and employees being instructed to manipulate guests.
E!! received separate statements from Dr.Phil and his show. News received separate statements from Dr. Phil’s and BuzzFeed’s representatives, who denied the allegations. They also accused BuzzFeed and Dr. Phil of publishing a “clickbait” story.

The statement also refuted racism allegations on set by the attorney, calling them an “absurd and ridiculous attention grab” perpetuated BuzzFeed.
E! was also informed by a spokesperson for the show. News reported that BuzzFeed’s story contained “verifiably, objectively false characterizations.” The spokesperson for the show described it as a “sensationalized article.”
“Dr. Phil, our hard-working, diverse staff of over 200 proud staff, many who have been here for 20 years, have sincerely, respectfully worked with thousands appreciative guests,” said a spokesperson. “From the beginning show executives have worked hard to create a safe, collaborative, and open environment that Dr. Phil McGraw and all guests can enjoy.”
After Dr. Phil gained popularity as a guest expert, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “Dr. Phil” was first broadcast in 2002. According to, it was renewed for four seasons in 2018 and renewed through 2023. Deadline.
