Egypt: Environment Min. The Environment Min. of Egypt urges the world to unite in combating climate change

Yasmine Fouad, Environment Minister, stated that all countries around the globe have no choice but join forces to combat the effects of climate change. This underscores the critical importance Egypt’s next UN climate summit in November.

Fouad made the remarks as part of a conference that was organized by the International Cooperation Ministry Tuesday 19/4/2022. It was there that she announced the launch of an international media campaign with CNN.

This media campaign promotes development projects across different sectors. It includes strengthening the transition to circular economics, improving the transport infrastructure, increasing our dependence on renewable energy sources, and empowering women in science, technology, and other fields.

The environment minister stated that Egypt would try to secure the implementation of the Glasgow climate summit’s outcome (COP26) during its UN presidency (COP27) and accelerate climate action to address the effects of climate change.

She concluded Sharm El Sheikh was a model for the rest of the world in coping with the effects of climate change by turning it into a green, sustainable city in preparation for the global event.
