Many motorists are trying to negotiate their way through large puddles of water as they attempt to pass by a bizarre weather Sunday in the Seaway Valley. It was a warm summer day, but it was a strange one.

The temperature is a balmy 17 C at mid-afternoon. With the sun shining, the snow banks are melting quickly, creating driving difficulties.
Cornwall’s City Council is asking motorists to be careful and has posted on social media that work crews are currently clearing catch basins.
This is just a small part of the wild-weather report. A cold front could bring thunderstorms later in the afternoon.
Environment Canada issued a Special Weather Report for Cornwall and Area early in the morning, warning of a high wind hazard with gusts up to 100 km/h.
The alert also states that widespread power outages may occur later in the afternoon or evening.
It is all part of the cold front that moved in in afternoon. Warm temperatures reached 13 C at 12:15, and much higher a couple hours later.
It started as a pleasant late-winter weekend with many outdoor recreation facilities keeping busy. But it quickly became late April. In the midst of the melting snow, many facilities and organizations announced that they would be closing down. Big Ben Ski Centre, Cornwall, will remain closed for several days, with the hope of returning to normal when the weather improves.
It is uncertain when that will happen. Temperatures above freezing are expected for most of the next week.
