Environment Canada says that sunny skies will be broken by showers during the last week and final stretch of spring break.
Jonathan Bau, meteorologist, stated that Kamloops will see more rain Monday after a cloudy and drizzly weekend.
“We’re looking at showers early in the morning, and that will end near noon, not looking at much in the way of accumulation or amounts, and then cloudy for the rest of the day,” Bau said.
Bau stated that winds up to 20 km/h and gusts up to 40 km/h are possible. These conditions will likely pick up on Monday. Daytime highs are expected at 14 C.
“For Tuesday, we’re starting the day sunny, will probably see some high clouds in the afternoon, and a high of 16,” Bau said.
“It gets unsettled Wednesday. Showers are on the horizon throughout the day. Amounts [of rain] is hard to pinpoint, depending on how strong these pockets of showers are, but maybe looking at five to 10 millimeters of rain.”
At the end of each week, there will be a mixture of sun and clouds.
Bau stated Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high temperature of 12 C. It will then cloud over on Friday.
Temperatures are rising as we look ahead to the weekend. Friday and Saturday will see sun and clouds and highs of 16 C.
The week’s temperatures are expected to be around average for the Kamloops region at this time of the year.
“The average for this time of year is a high of 14 C, a low of 1 C. Just Wednesday is a little blip in the temperatures. We’re looking only at a high of 8 C and showers,” Bau said.
