Environment Canada issues blowing-snow advisory for the area – FortSaskOnline.com

A winter storm will cause hazardous road conditions on Monday (Jan.31).

Environment Canada has issued a blowing snow advisory for the region, saying blowing snow and strong wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h will develop Monday morning and end by the evening.

Due to reduced visibility, travel is likely to be dangerous. Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow, causing poor visibility within 800 m or less for at least three hours.

The advisory is in force for:

  • Fort Saskatchewan
  • Lamont County
  • Sherwood Park
  • Strathcona County
  • Morinville
  • Sturgeon County

Here is the forecast.
