Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
  • Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay

Wednesday is expected to see freezing rain

Hazards:
It is possible to have significant ice buildup on certain surfaces.

Timing:
Starting Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.

Discussion:
On Wednesday morning, snow and ice pellets will start before turning into freezing rain Wednesday afternoon. Freezing rain could be heavy at times. However, it will soon turn to rain during the overnight hours. Power outages could be caused by wind gusts and ice buildup.

It is possible for roads, roads, walkways, parking lots and highways to become slippery and icy. You should exercise caution when driving or walking on icy roads. When conditions are slippery, slow down. Pay attention to the taillights ahead, and maintain a safe distance. Utility outages can occur.
