We are seeing more sunshine and calmer weather, but it is not yet.
We finally got some much-anticipated spring weather this week. However, it appears that Victoria’s weather may be changing today.
Environment Canada has issued an advisory about wind conditions for southern Vancouver Island, as well as the Greater Victoria area.
The weather agency predicts that westerly winds will reach 70 km/h, except in the vicinity of Juan De Fuca, which is expected to see winds gusting up to 90 km/h.
The weather alert warned that strong west winds gusting to 70 km/h and gusting up to 90 km/h are expected to develop near Juan de Fuca Strait this afternoon. They will gradually ease overnight.
Winds have been gusting all day today but another windstorm is expected to arrive late Friday evening and into the evening.
Environment Canada warned that the wind gusts could cause tree limb damage and power outages.
Saturday’s weather will be a mixture of sun and clouds, with a 30% chance for showers in morning and winds.
Sunday is expected be sunny and clear with a high temperature of 9 degrees.
Environment Canada stated that they issue warnings when there’s a high risk of damaging winds.
