Weather advisory in force for:

  • Barrie – Collingwood – Hillsdale
  • Midland – Coldwater Lake – Orr Lake
  • Orillia – Lagoon City– Washago

Winter weather travel advisory in force

Multi-day snowfall event tonight to Thursday morning

Hazards:
Total snowfall accumulations between 10-20 cm by Thursday morning
Heavy snow causes reduced visibility

Timing:
Tonight through Thursday morning

Discussion:
Freezing rain, freezing drizzle, or snow tonight will mix with snow and transform into all snow by Wednesday morning. In the vicinity of Georgian Bay, you may see snow mixed with rain tonight. Snow is expected to persist Wednesday night and Wednesday night, but will recede by Thursday morning. The track of the low pressure system, and therefore the snowfall amounts, is still uncertain. This could impact the possibility of additional snowfall on Thursday.

Winter driving conditions are dangerous and motorists should be prepared to adjust their travel plans accordingly. Poor weather conditions could cause transportation delays. Turn on your lights if visibility is reduced and keep a safe distance. Snow accumulation can make it difficult to navigate surfaces such as roads, roads, walkways, and parking lots.
