Environment Canada issues winter weather travel advisory

Environment Canada states that heavy lake effect snow will create dangerous driving conditions.

  • Barrie – Collingwood – Hillsdale

Winter weather travel advisory in force

Hazards:
Due to the locally heavy lake effect snow, dangerous driving conditions can be expected.
Additional snowfall amounts as high as 5 cm have been recorded this morning.

Timing:
From now until mid-morning

Discussion:
The lake effect snow will have an impact on travel from Wasaga Beach to South Barrie.

Impacts:

Weather changes can make traveling dangerous. Changes in weather conditions can cause you to need to adjust your driving. Sometimes, visibility may be reduced by heavy snow. Snow squalls can make weather conditions change significantly. Clear skies can turn to heavy snow in a matter of minutes.
