Environment Canada predicts that spring temperatures will be “normal to below-normal”

Five days remain until the first day in spring, so many may wonder when winter snow will begin to melt.

Environment Canada predicts that Spring 2022 will see weather conditions that are normal to below-normal.

Gerald Chang, Environment Canada Meteorologist explains further: In terms of temperatures we still see average to below normal weather for March and April, April, May.

However, it is important to look at specific percentages. We are talking about 40% to 50% chance of it being below normal, so that is the dominant trend, he said.

Chang continued, That doesnt mean that there is no chance that it could be near and above normal, so we really have to look system by system. You will learn from week to week what these systems will bring, and what the temperature trends are.

This week we can expect some warmer temperatures and rain. Daytime temperatures could reach 9 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures as low at 5 degrees Celsius.
