Environment Canada warns of snow on some highways in Manitoba

Environment Canada warns Manitobans that snow could affect some highways on Tuesday.

The weather agency issued a snowfall advisory for a few communities on Tuesday morning. These included Flin Flon (Cranberry Portage), Snow Lake, Norway House and Cross Lake.

These areas are susceptible to snowfalls of between 10 and 20 centimetres.

Environment Canada explained that the snow is being caused by a low-pressure storm that moved into central Manitoba overnight. This system is expected to continue through Tuesday or Wednesday morning. The snow may be heavy and wet at times.

The weather agency warns about the possibility of snow on sections of Highways 20, 39, 6 and 6.

The snow will be gone in the Flin Flon region by Tuesday afternoon. The snow will persist in the Norway House area overnight Tuesday and Wednesday.

Manitobans are reminded that conditions can quickly change and can become dangerous. The heavier snowfall may cause visibility to be reduced.
