Winter storms are coming for most of southwestern Ontario, including the Wellington County and Waterloo regions.
Showers will be common Wednesday evening, with 25 mm of rainfall expected to fall by Thursday night.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather warning that freezing rain, snow and ice pellets could begin Thursday afternoon.
Environment Canada stated that “Snow, at times, heavy, Thursday afternoon through Friday morning,” and added that snowfall amounts between 10-20 cm are possible.
This is due to a low pressure system that moved northeast across Lake Erie Thursday night.
Environment Canada stated, “At the moment, the track for the low pressure systems is uncertain, and as such precipitation types, timing and amounts might change.”
