Environment Studies and Environment Science are the two main branches of Environment.

As subjects for Class XII, any three of Physics, Chemistry and Maths, Biology or Economics are required.

Environment and its branches

Environment is an interdisciplinarious subject that examines the relationship between humans, the environment, and other people by combining information, physical, and biological sciences. It studies the interaction of scientific, legal, managerial, and social aspects of environmental issues.

  • The study of the Environment can be divided into two branches, Environmental Studies and Environmental Science.

Studying the Environment

  • You must pass your Class XII board exams with at minimum 50% aggregate in any stream. This includes Physics, Chemistry Maths, Biology Economics, Geography, Economics, and Maths.
  • After your graduation in Environment you can choose to pursue an MSc/MA course in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or Environmental Management.
  • After completing your postgraduate studies, it is possible to apply for a PhD in areas such as Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Environment.
