Environmental Expo Returns To Fort Hunt Park In April

FORT HUNT, VA – Saturday’s fourth annual Mount Vernon District Environment Expo will provide information and ways to help with climate and environmental challenges.

The event, which is planned one day after Earth Day will be hosted by Mount Vernon district supervisor Dan Storck as well as the National Park Service, Fort Hunt Park Pavilion A. The event will run from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Clean Fairfax and Covanta Waste-to-Energy sponsor the event, which is free.

This event is free and will include workshops, live music from live reptile and other owl shows, electric vehicles, nature walks and the NPS Junior Ranger program. The featured workshops include the reptile wonders workshop, the secret garden birds and bees, NPS Junior Rangers, solar cooker demonstrations, bird and nature walk demonstrations, as well as NPS junior rangers.

The featured performer is the best choice for children’s entertainment. Music by Billy B, the Natural Science Song and Dance Guy. Bill Brennan, better known to children as “Billy B,” has been performing since 1977. He uses entertainment and natural science to teach children about ecology and the environment.
