This broadcast season, KSMU’s “Making a Difference” program is changing gears. Through a series monthly panel conversation, we review each chapter in The 2021 Community Focus Report (Springfield and Greene County). The CFR is a biennial report that evaluates the community’s assets, gaps and opportunities, as well as challenges in eleven key areas. Today’s topic is The Natural Environment..

Today’s panel discussion features Jonathan Groves, facilitator for the CFR; Gary Gibson (President & CEO of City Utilities Springfield Mo.Mike Kromrey, Executive director of The Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, and member of the CFR Natural environment Steering Committee. Barbara Lucks, who has been with the City of Springfield for 22 years, is chair of Missouri’s Solid Waste Advisory Board and headed the CFR Steering Committee that studied the Natural Environment. Barbara Lucks organized the group and edited its White Paper report.
