FAMU School of Environment is working to monitor the water quality in the region

(WTXL). North Florida’s marine research is being improved by the Florida A&M School of the Environment.

Rattler Moji Buoys are being used by the program’s staff, students, and faculty to provide real-time data on water conditions in Apalachee bay.

The data is then sent to the lab, and students and researchers can access it from their smartphones.

The solar-powered buoy measures water quality parameters, such as pH, temperature and levels of nitrates and algae.
