Farmwell Station Students Talk Environment with Superintendent and Supervisors

Loudoun supervisors and superintendent Scott Ziegler visited Farmwell Station Middle School students to discuss efforts to reduce the county’s carbon footprint.

The Green Team is a club that studies nature, energy use, and the local environment. The club recently bagged 36 pounds of garbage around the school grounds and the W&OD Trail.

Ziegler was joined at the table by County Chair Phyllis Randall and Supervisor Sylvia Glass (D– Broad Run).

Randall stated that it is important to spend time with the next generation and hear their concerns, issues and ideas. Every elected official should work to ensure a safer and healthier world for the leaders of tomorrow.

Ziegler informed students that the division was the recipient of the ENERGY STAR Partner of Year Sustained Excellence Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
