Flood Recovery Bursary funding was also provided by councils through the Enviroplan initiative to Landholder Conservation Partnership Program members who were affected by the flood.
Councillor Milligan said that properties of high environmental value can apply during April for assistance with debris removal and bank stabilisation, replanting creekbanks with native plants, and controlling emergingweeds.
Another area of focus for the Taskforce was the closures and restrictions affecting many council conservation estates and reserves as flood recovery efforts continue.
Councillor Milligan stated that although you can see the extent of the floodwater damage at Colleges Crossing, there are many areas where dangers such severe track damage or slips that are not visible from the road.
Some of the most popular natural areas in our country are among the most severely affected. It will be a while before these restrictions and closures are lifted. Please do not enter restricted or closed areas for your safety.
It is always changing as parks and estates are gradually restored or reopened.
