YOUNG Clacks adults can tackle climate change and find employment through two roles offered by a charity.
Forth Environment Link is seeking two full-time project support staff officers. Applications are open to anyone 18-24 from the region.
The Scottish Governments Young Persons guarantee is available for those not currently employed or in higher education.
One of these posts will be supporting the charity’s wood skills program and food growing programme. There is a particular focus upon upcycling and easier access to good food.
Richard Chatfield, project officer, stated: It’s a great chance to learn new skills, and support your local communities.
We recycle old wood into outdoor furniture and raised beds for community gardens. We also support people in growing and cooking more of their own food.
The second job is to support Forth Environment Link’s active travel programme. This will encourage more children to cycle and walk to school.
Shirley Paterson, Development Manager, stated: It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, including bike repairs and maintenance, promotion of bike use, and helping to run led-rides and cycling events.
Both posts are funded one year.
