Foxconn re-initializes some Shenzhen output by creating a bubble environment

Foxconn, an Apple Inc supplier, announced Wednesday that it had resumed production and operations at its Shenzhen campus after satisfying government conditions allowing staff to live and work in bubbles.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd was also the company. It announced on Monday that production would be stopped to comply with COVID-19. This raised concerns about how global supply chains might be affected. Foxconn released a statement saying that the process is only possible on campuses that include both production facilities and employee housing.

“Some operations were able to resume and some production is being done at Shenzhen Campus after the closed-loop management process was applied. China used this system during the recent Winter Olympics. It separated event personnel from the general public by using a sealed bubble. The system was widely praised for its ability to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, either at the Olympics or within the community.
