From Iceland — Environment Minister, Education Minister Test Positive For Coronavirus At The Border

Gulaugur R rarson, Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Affairs, has been tested positive for coronavirus at the border screening. RV reports. He is now fifth government minister to have been infected with the virus.

Last December, Minister Bjarni Benediktsson, Minister for Innovation, Industry and Universities slaug Arna Sigurbjrnsdtir, and Foreign Minister, rds Kolbrn Gylfadtir, all declared that they had all tested positive. Over the weekend, Minister of Education and Children’s Affairs smundur Einar Daason AnnouncementHe was isolated with the virus.

He made the announcement to answer speculations about whereabouts. He said that he was not “tanning in Tenerife” but rather in COVID isolation, having contracted the virus after a visit to Hungary to watch the Icelandic men’s handball team compete.

Gulaugur was also in good spirits. Gulaugur said that he was happy to discover how easy it was for him to work remotely, but he misses being able to meet people.
