Hidden camera captures wild white tailed eagle egg hatching video| Environment

The UK’s first live footage of a wild white-tailed Eagle hatching was captured by a hidden camera. The camera was hidden in a stick 3 metres from the nest to prevent disturbing the birds. The white-tailed and bald eagles went extinct in Scotland, in 1918. However the camera was hidden in a stick three metres away from the nest to avoid disturbing the birds. In 1975, eagles originating from Scandinavia were reintroduced on the Isle of Rum. Fergus Cumberland (RSPB Scotland’s visitor experience manager) said that “now to see that they have hatched their very first chick is amazing.” We are so grateful to have been able witness this special moment.
